Gold Medal AND Trophy for Best Cabernet Sauvignon goes to Corang Estate!

Corang Estate’s Hilltops 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon has won not only a Gold Medal, but also the Trophy for Best Cabernet Sauvignon of Show, at the 2022 NSW Small Winemakers Wine Show.

The wine is the first vintage of Cabernet Sauvignon for Corang Estate range and has proved to be a winner from the get-go, earning a silver medal in the Canberra and Region Wine Show only a few weeks after bottling! Owner of Corang Estate, Michael Bynon explained, “the cool and wet La Niña growing season was very challenging. But the weather fined up just in time for the late ripening Cabernet, producing very pure, ripe, sweet fruit and fine structure – which will continue to evolve and grow. We’re absolutely thrilled that our first vintage has gained such prestigious recognition on the NSW wine scene.”

The fruit for the wine came from the Hilltops region, which is an important source for Corang Estate, including their multi-award-winning Shiraz and Tempranillo. Corang Estate is an associate member of the Hilltops Winegrowing Association.

Corang Estate wines are available at their cellar door in the village of Tarago (south of Goulburn) online, and in key on and off-premise outlets in Southern NSW.
