The April/May edition of the Halliday Wine Magazine out this month has a feature on the psychology of a wine label. It examines why we are drawn to colours, textures and styles. The Corang Estate label was selected as an example of an interesting label and the article describes the story behind our design.
The handpainted design features across our range of wines and cartons. Corang Estate is borne of a love of nature and the outdoors, combined with a passion for great wine. Key to the development of the Corang Estate label was to evoke a sense of place and capture the essence of our idyllic bushland setting. Having seen and purchased some of the beautiful work of local artist, Wendy Shipard, it was an easy decision to ask her to paint our label.
The scene closely reflects the unique view that future visitors to our cellar door will enjoy as they come down our driveway. We constantly receive compliments on our striking and colourful label, and we’re sure it’s drawn many people to our wines. We firmly believe good packaging is so important in the modern era.
