If you book it enables us to prepare the place setting for your arrival and make sure wines and any cheeses are served at the perfect temperature. You can make a booking via the cellar door page on the Corang Estate website. However, it’s not essential to book if you’d prefer to keep your plans more flexible.

Corang Estate Cellar Door & Pantry is located in the centre of the village of Tarago. The address is Shop 2, 1-3 Braidwood Road, Tarago, NSW 2580
Lots of our visitors are travelling with caravans. While it would be difficult to get in the carpark at the rear of the building with a caravan, there is plenty of room to pull up outside on the roadside at the front of the building. There is also a patch of land at the corner of the crossroads, only a few meters away where large vehicles and trailers can park. All parking is free.
We don’t operate a cellar door at the vineyard. You can visit our tasting room in the centre of Tarago village where we have our full range of wines available for sale. We have videos running on screens in the cellar door where you can see footage of our vineyard. We also have a range of local and regional pantry items such as cheeses, dips, cured meats and salamis, pasta, honey, olive oil, condiments, chocolates, and more.
The vineyard location is also our private home. There is a growing trend for off-site cellar doors in village locations where there are also other amenities for visitors. Tarago has a café, gift shop, pub, petrol station, park with picnic tables and public toilets, so it is a convenient location for visitors to the village.
You are welcome to bring your dog to our cellar door, however they will have to stay outside. There are clips installed on the veranda posts outside where you can attach your dog’s lead and they can stay undercover with a bowl of water while you come inside to shop. There are tables outside and we’d be very happy to serve you a wine tasting or grazing platter outdoors where you can sit with your dog. Please be aware the outdoor area is subject to weather conditions as it can be cold and windy during the winter months or hot in the mid afternoon in summer.
Yes, our building is suitable for wheelchair access. There is a disabled parking spot in the car park behind and the ground is flat. The door is wide enough for wheelchair access and the interior is all one level.
There is a $10 charge for wine tasting. We serve five wines for the tasting which is a set selection of wines from our range and includes red, white and rosé. The selection changes seasonally so you’re sure to taste something new if you are a regular visitor.
The tasting charge is not redeemable upon purchase as we prefer to keep the price of our bottles down and not have to incorporate this fee into our bottle pricing. We feel it’s only fair to charge for sharing our knowledge and expertise, plus we serve around 150mls of wine (equivalent to a standard glass).
We make a range of wines to cover almost all tastes. From an easy drinking off-dry Prosecco to dry white wines, rosé, red wines, red blends and a port-style wine.
We have a selection of non-alcoholic drinks and we also have beer available too.
You can most certainly order a glass of wine to drink at our cellar door. You can also order a bottle to drink on premise too, either inside at one of our tables or outside at one of our outdoor tables. Bottles of wine to drink on premise are the same price as take away; we don’t change a premium.
Yes, Corang Estate has a wine club. You can join via our website. Members receive two boxes of 12 wines per year and delivery is free. Your first payment and delivery is when you first join, then every six months after that.
You can purchase Corang Estate wines via our website. You can choose a mixed case of wines, or order a single case of one wine. The choice is yours! You can only order in multiples of 12 though. We don’t have a restaurant at the cellar door, however we do offer a casual eating option which is perfect for lunch with friends. You can build your own grazing platter by choosing a selection of cheeses, meats, dips, crackers etc. We’ll provide a board, plates and cutlery etc, which you can enjoy at one of our tables with a glass or bottle of wine should you choose. There are a couple of set platters which you can add to your wine tasting booking in our online booking service. The food is served “picnic style” in its original packets. We provide scissors to open the packs and we’d be very happy to wrap up any leftovers for you to take home.
If you’d prefer to take your food to go and have a picnic elsewhere, our cellar door & pantry is a perfect solution. We’ll pack your items in a bag and provide some disposable cutlery and paper plates if you need them. We have cold bottles of wine and takeaway glasses as well.
You are very welcome to purchase a cheese or two and some crackers with your wine tasting. We’ll provide a board and cheese knife.
Yes, we stock gluten free crackers that you can enjoy with cheeses or dips.
Most of our pantry range comes from artisan producers across southern NSW. Some items are more local such as products from Braidwood, Bungendore, South coast, Southern Highlands and Canberra. We are proud to support local businesses.
At Corang Estate we pride ourselves on keeping the standard high across our whole range of wines. We have won trophies for Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Sangiovese as well as a raft of wine show medals across all our wines.
Corang Estate is a small vineyard where we grow Tempranillo and Riesling. In addition to this we work with around ten different growers across Hilltops, Tumbarumba and Murrumbateman to source top quality grapes to make our wine range. This is a typical business model for most of the wineries in the region and very few wineries grow 100% of their own grapes. All our wines are made in a winery in Murrumbateman, which is at the centre of fine Southern Tablelands wine.
At Corang Estate vineyard we prefer to focus on sustainability. This incorporates many organic practices and also focuses on reducing waste, saving water, using renewable energy, and much more.
Corang Estate wines are classified vegan because we don’t use animal based fining agents.
Our vineyard property is on the Corang River, so we decided to call it Corang Estate. The image our wine label is an artist’s impression of the view coming down our driveway and looking out over the vineyard.
Corang Estate is owned and operated by husband and wife team, Michael and Jill Bynon. They will be the ones to personally serve you in the cellar door.
