Description
Tasting Notes
This ‘Reserve Selection’ Shiraz shows beautiful purity of aromatic red berry fruit, great structure and lovely complexity! A truly fine wine – worthy of the cellar.
Vineyard
The fruit was sourced from a highly regarded vineyard in the Hilltops region. It was picked late-March with an average Baume of 13.5.
Winemaking
After picking, most of the fruit was crushed and destemmed into open top fermenters and hand plunged. Once pressed the wine was matured for 11 months in a mixture of new to three year old French barriques.
Cellaring
This beautifully structured wine from a great vintage has all the depth and concentration required to age gracefully over the next 10-12 years.
Food Match
The complex, savoury nature of this wine will pair well with rich meat and game dishes and full flavoured cheese.
Awards & Reviews
Silver Medal – Great Australian Shiraz Challenge 2023
“It’s a seriously affable mid-weight thing, with a flush of juicy, gummy, slightly fizzy purple plum and blackberry fruit too. It’s generous and also crisp, although it never gets out of a medium-bodied mode, with a bit of energy to the finish too. Very drinkable. Best drinking: good now, no hurry. 91/100. Would I buy it? Worth a glass or two.” – Andrew Graham Oz Wine Review
