Description
Sourced from one of Tumbarumba’s finest vineyards, nestled in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains in NSW, at an elevation between 500-650m.
Tasting Note
Our Tumbarumba Chardonnay displays the classic cool climate citrus and melon intensity of the region, with subtle smoky oak in support. A full flavoured wine with a long, complex finish.
Vineyard
The fruit was sourced from a single excellent Tumbarumba vineyard and picked in late February at 13 be.
Winemaking
Our Chardonnay was whole bunch pressed, then barrel fermented with wild yeast in a mix of new and seasoned French oak. It then underwent complete malolactic fermentation, followed by 12 months barrel maturation. The result is a beautifully textured wine with elegant citrus and melon fruit and complex honeyed, cream and struck-match notes.
Cellaring
Though drinking beautifully now, this fine wine will gain further complexity and interest over the next 5-8 years.
Food Match
This elegant wine is an ideal match for shellfish, poultry, and soft creamy cheeses.
